Our staff are expected to embrace and practice the tenets of Eden Village Camp:

1. Staff is asked to practice awareness at all times, not only of ourselves and our actions, but of safety, punctuality, campers' energy level, and our campers' and coworker's needs.
   
   
2. Campers are our priority. This means making sure campers are fed before you eat, that activities are intended for the campers' enjoyment over your own, and your personal life is set aside while working with campers. Staff will put the needs of the campers ahead of their own.
   
   
3. Eden Village Camp is our home for two months, and it is important that we treat our home with respect. Staff is expected to care for our living space, dining hall, outdoor space, and environment.

Counselors

Counselors care for and live with campers as role models. As facilitators of campers' experience, counselors strive to raise self esteem, empower children to take on challenges and leadership opportunities, and foster the bunk group dynamic by actively participating in all camp activities offered by specialists. Excellent communication skills, group leading, childcare experience and love of nature are essential.

More skills required, and responsibilities:

• Able and willing to accept supervision and guidance.
• Able to create an environment where campers feel emotionally and physically safe.
• Able to provide opportunities for campers to achieve successes.
• Monitor cleanliness and camper's health.
• Recognize and respond to opportunities for group problem-solving.
• Supervise all aspects of the camp day.
• Ensure that campers write letters on mail days.
• Participate in bunk activities.

Counselors must be at least 18, and are expected to stay at camp the entire season and attend staff training.

Waterfront Director

We are looking for an amazing educator and inspiring leader to be our Waterfront Director this summer. The Waterfront Director lifeguards and oversees all lifeguard duties at the camp's lake and pool; as well as designing a swim instruction and water awareness curriculum infused with the ethos and mission of Eden Village. Candidate must have at least three years of lifeguarding experience, be lifeguard-certified, be able to lead swim instruction, and incorporate creative and meaningful water-related activities. Lifeguards

We are looking for multi-talented individuals to serve as both lifeguards and counselors this summer. Lifeguard/ Counselor hybrids split their time between the waterfront and their bunk, spending all communal time with their bunks and teaching swim instruction and lifeguarding during program periods and open waterfront times. Housekeeping

We are hiring a housekeeping position for this summer. The position requires general housekeeping and cleaning of public buildings and facilities and those who are excited to work with children and be part of an exciting group of educators. You will also be invited to apply other musical, dramatic, sports or other teaching talents to the camp community. The position is open to all levels of cleaning and housekeeping experience.
